Two persons in Pakistan must be watching Tunisia closely: President Asif Ali Zardariand Army chief Gen. Ashfaq Kayani.

The elected government of President Zardari appoints an optician-turned-foreign policy expert Nasir Ali Khan as Ambassador at Large who has visited 25 countries in 24 months costing 15 million. His credentials? Played marbles with Shah Mehmood Qureshi at school.
Imran Khan, the only Pakistani politician who refused to toe the line set by the US Embassy in Islamabad.
If Pakistani politicians fail to build consensus, will they agree then on the need to step aside, spare us their chaotic politics, and let the rest of us force changes into the system to allow new thinking and new faces?
See this slideshow prepared by Foreign Policy magazine. It doesn’t roundly condemn Indian atrocities, not yet at least. But considering the past, it is three-steps forward for the Am-Brit media, and hopefully the beginning of a trend that might help introduce the American people to unchecked Indian atrocities.
India’s most famous novelist meets with the husband and brother of two Kashmiri women raped and killed by Indian Army soldiers. All major Indian newspapers warn Roy of imminent arrest on sedition charges.
Khalilzad, who is no friend of Pakistan, is a good friend of our President Asif Zardari. Recently, Mr. Khalilzad visited Mr. Zardari in Islamabad. Reports suggest Mr. Khalilzad conveyed a message to Washinngton: Support Zardari to support America. And cut off the Pakistani military. If true, no surprises here.
For us Pakistanis, it is our enduring faith that Pakistan is here to stay. It is going nowhere but forward. We shall refute and debunk the writings and speeches of self-styled ‘Pakistan experts’, local and foreign, who spread confusion on Pakistan’s future. Today, I resolve that, by my actions and deeds, I will work to help our decision makers identify the best that is in the interest of our homeland.
He came. He chose to escape. He can’t be trusted again.
While Mr. Altaf Hussain weeps over Dr. Imran Farooq and MQM officials throng the house of the murdered man’s parents in Karachi, no one is asking why MQM is keeping Farooq’s family under what looks like a house arrest in Karachi? Why Imran Farooq’s parents, brothers, sisters are not allowed to come on TV and give a statement? Welcome to another chapter in Karachi’s unfortunate political gang war.
The ‘Feudal democracy brigade’ is causing the greatest damage to this country and the Pakistani middle and lower classes are the hardest hit. All institutions must play a role to prevent a national collapse and the Pakistani military is no exception.
Development and building institutions and traditions is more important for a new country than democracy. That’s precisely what Pakistan needed and continues to need. In Pakistan, we need a visionary nationalistic leadership at the top backed by the strength of the Pakistani military to install a confident visionary leadership and give it consistency and continuity. That’s the formula that worked for China. The more time we waste in propping up a fake democracy, the more Pakistan will come closer to internal failure.
While the world’s rich dole out money to help Pakistan’s flood victims, Pakistan’s filthy rich politicians refuse to budge. See who is paying what.
This episode is important because it shows once again the basic structural flaws in the Pakistani political system and the Pakistani democracy which lead this system to repeatedly crash and throw the country back to square one, wasting precious time that we don’t have.
